2025 Annual Meeting

This year's Annual Meeting will be held Tuesday, January 21st, at 7:00 p.m.

  • In-person in the Council Chambers at Falmouth Town Hall,
  • Online via Zoom Meeting (the link will be published the day of the meeting), and
  • Broadcast on Falmouth Community Television

Agenda

  • A brief business meeting required by our bylaws.
  • A look back at last year’s accomplishments (and we've been doing a lot!).
  • Short presentations sharing recent research into local history.
    • The Humphrey Merrill House.  Kyle Lucas will share how he solved a historical jigsaw puzzle to discover who built his home at 220 Middle Road and when.
    • The Opening Volley.  An attack on an isolated homestead overlooking the Presumpscot River in September 1675 marked the arrival of King Philip's War in Falmouth.  We will describe how the event galvanized the townspeople.  Period accounts were vague about the location of the homestead.  We will explain how we identified the site of the Wakely homestead.

Please join us!  This event is free and open to the public.  You need not be a member to attend.

The Zoom meeting link will be posted on our home page on the day of the meeting.

The agenda, presentation slides, and supporting material for this meeting will be posted on the website page for the 2025 Annual Meeting prior to the meeting.

Agendas, presentation slides, reports, and minutes for prior annual and board meetings are posted in Society Records.
